FACILITY
Winning Strides is a private facility that offers a full spectrum of equine services. On site riding lessons, summer riding camps, horse boarding and seminars are conducted here in our friendly and relaxed environment.
The ranch is located on 160 acres of grass land. Mosquito Creek loops through our fields and there is a great view of Alberta’s amazing Rocky Mountains from our doorstep. We are located less the five kilometers off of highway #2, providing easy access with minimal gravel road travel.
Our barn features tack and storage rooms, an office, four box stalls, and two tie stalls for those horses that require stabling. The barn has a convenient 10 foot eave with tie rail for tacking up.
Our new indoor arena is an 80’ x 180’ steel structure. It is currently functional, although not all the finishing details have been completed.
>> Arena Rules <<
Our outdoor, sand riding arena is a generous 90’ x 150’ in size. The north and west parameters have an eight foot slat fence for wind and weather protection. In addition, a 50’ sand round pen is enclosed with Two W Lemsco panels for individual training. A central main corral system is panel enclosed allowing multi – use as required. Our spacious yard leaves plenty of room for trailer turn around >> return to top
BOARDING INFO
Our philosophy is that the healthiest horses are those kept in their natural environment. Given a choice, it is desirable for these animals to forage in an open pasture when possible.
At Winning Strides, we have designed our facility so that each field encompasses 40 acres. The horses graze is a rich blend of crested wheat, brome and orchard grass.
Water is available from the highly reliable Ritchie automatic horse waterers. Board fence shelters have been built to be available for the horses in each field. The fields are fenced with a combination of barbed wire and electric fence.
The horses are grouped so that mares and geldings are kept separate. We ensure that horses are not across the fence from each other to minimize over fence interaction.
We check the animals daily. We will make all attempts to contact owners in the event of animal illness or injury, however, depending on the severity of such – we will contact a local veterinarian should we feel the need arises.
